Designed like a formal palace courtyard garden, it is a mix of Cambodian, Malaysian, Chinese, Balinese and Javanese influences. Nestled in the centre of the garden is a fountain area and an upper deck with wooden pergolas. Little lantern houses with sugar palm fibre roofs are modelled after traditional houses in Sumba, East Indonesia, while the limestone steps were imported from Java. Everything in the garden is custom-made and hand carved. A further landscaped garden, with sprawling lush greenery, tropical garden and cascading waterfalls, is located at the fifth floor of the Terrace Wing. A four-storey-high waterfall cascades onto various rock formations and creates a picturesque view from the Terrace Wing guest rooms. |
